"KIWI will be a domain for New Zealand, providing a fresh, modern online identity for all Kiwis all around the world."
Dot Kiwi Ltd was born when a group of New Zealand businessmen came together to help raise funds for a devastated Christchurch, following the magnitude 6.3 earthquake in February, 2011. The founders were so deeply affected by the damage and loss of life the disaster caused, that they dedicated themselves to using their significant international and local business exp'erience to assist the region.
Dot Kiwi believes that the .KIWI gTLD will offer New Zealand businesses greater branding creativity and the opportunity to differentiate themselves from competitors. It will be a domain for New Zealand, providing a fresh, modern online identity for all Kiwis.
Despite the obvious benefits to New Zealand brands and individuals, the main aim of Dot Kiwi Ltd has always been to help the city of Christchurch recover from the tragic loss of life following the earthquakes, rebuild homes and businesses, and get back on its feet financially. A percentage of Dot Kiwi's revenue and profit before tax from the sale of .kiwi domains will be donated to a trust established to provide funds for the rebuild of Christchurch. The Trust will be administered directly by the trustees independently of Dot Kiwi, with available funds being allocated according to their direction as they are received.
