.NET

NET is the Internet
.NET

The .NET top-level domain (TLD) is one of the original six domain extensions released in 1985 and today is the third most popular domain extension behind .COM and .DE.  Though intended for use by network providers, today there are no restrictions and anyone can register a .NET domain name. While .NET continues to serve as the primary domain choice for global Internet infrastructure providers, the domain name now is also used for network infrastructure, ecommerce, email, and even as the primary alternative to .COM

FAQs

1. Are there any restrictions in registering .NET domains?

Though the original intention was for the TLD to be used by internet service providers (ISPs) and network operators, today registrations are freely available for anyone.  The .NET domain is a primary alternative to hard to find .COM names.

2. How can I dispute the content or registration of a .NET domain name?

Please keep in mind that domain registration and use of a domain are separate functions.  Registration of a domain is done by a domain registrar and content delivery from which the domain is the web address is done through a web host.  Often the registrar and web host are one in the same.  However, DN Pilot is only acting as a registrar and does not provide web hosting, therefore, legal matters and disputes on content of a website should be directed at the underlying web host directly.

For legitimate disputes on a .NET domain itself, please follow ICANN's Universal Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy (UDRP)
